Scrying Bowl

Scrying Bowl

Scrying has many forms (the most famous example probably being the crystal ball) but in its simplest definition to scry is simply a form of divination that requires focusing on an object, usually a reflective one.

I wanted to make myself a scrying bowl that was associated with my element, the ocean, so I used one of my ruffled clam shells. There are two halves to this shell, so yes I did making another bowl, for my husband.

I used black and silver acrylic on part of the shell and then a ultra glossy vanish to waterproof the bowl (around 9 layers in fact) and give it a mirror like appearance.
