Cosmic Mother

Here stands the Cosmic Mother, in her hands she holds the moon, a feminine symbol of receptive power. In ancient times it was thought by some peoples that conception was brought about by the moonlight, and hence within her grows the solar god, her equal and later to be her lover. Around her lay the stars, connected her to the universe; Pleiades, Virgo, Orion, Gemini are the constellations shown.

This is painted on a piece of fir bark I found, it is 14 inches tall and stands easily on its own.
